official news about a drop

Hey all,

it's been a while since I gave official news, other than the shows I'm attending and such like that.

First off, I'd like to announce that I sort of made a name change. I dropped the Hysteria off my name, because I feel like I am getting too old for that...scene/stage (I don't even go on stage often) name? Plus, I do get weirded out when someone calls me "Sya Hysteria". I feel much comfortable with just...Sya.

So as of now, it's just Sya, ecause that's who I am anyways. However, I do not mind if you continue calling me Sya Hysteria to identify that as who I am, because I know there are millions of Syas/Shas in the world, anyways. You can call me whatever you want, if you know me well enough you'd learn I have millions of nicknames.

Secondly, and probably most importantly, is my photography and artwork. I am going to put my photography and art on hold because I my laptop refuses to work with me. I know that is not supposed to be an excuse at all, but some things really cannot be helped. Once I get a new laptop, I promise I will be photographing shows on a full force, and probably even more than I usually do.

Third, I started working at Gramophone (Capitol outlet, City Hall), so if you think that my presence has lessen on technology, you are right. But that also means that I am just responding a little slower. If you DO want to drop by and come say hi at the store, or have a particular CD you're looking for (it's more of the mainstream artistes, though), PLEASE text me first. I might be covering someone else at another outlet or have an off day.

Forth, I will also be hitting the studios this August. To know what you want to expect, you can listen to the sample for the ending of one of the last tracks here. Truth will only be out when everything is done recording and all that jazz. I will post more on this soon.

Next, I am done with news for myself. But do check out these people because...

Proppa Updates

Hey all,

I know it's been a while since I gave official updates, but here would be a proppa one. On the few blogs ago, I let the whole world (or rather, you) see the drawings I did for IKILLEDKENNY! and Solace, without them being colored.

It's been about a month now, and because of the amount of things going on in my life right now, I am slowly working on the designs. I am done with the coloring for IKILLEDKENNY! and it looks like this:

And you are probably expecting to see Solace's design, but fellow Karl is on tour and he hasn't got back to me yet, so Solace's design will be on hold.

HOWEVER, I did do a new design for no one, but myself because I figured that I don't have an art portfolio, so I might as well do up something to show what I can do. Here it is.

Blindfold Hero EP Launch. Come?

Hey all,

head on to Blindfold Hero's MySpace (http://www.myspace.com/blindfoldhero) to hear me sing one line in the song 'Perfectionist On New Grounds'. Yes, one line.

Story is, I was hanging out in the studio with them and helping Keith, Bear and Muddy reach the note for that part, but they gave up and told me to sing it. So I did. HOWEVER, I don't know if it is just me, but I don't seem to be able to hear songs play on MySpace. So screw that shit, and purchase the EP. Which brings me to the next point.

The song will be in their EP which will be launched on the 10th April, with Hollywood Music TV as the official media at F.A.D Studio. I will be hosting on behalf of HMTV And if you're lucky, I might be singing the line for 'Perfectionist On New Grounds'. Below are the details for the show.

Updates and Help A Friends Outs

If you read the previous post, you'd know that I am free as a bird (in the meantime) and that I have dates open for your shows. I am open to travel worldwide for your shows, but we need to discuss about that if you're not in Singapore.

Also, here are some shows that I would DIE to shoot.

Just look at the line up. Just LOOK AT IT. There are so many bands on there, from each festival that are in my must-see-before-I-die list. If you manage to go the shows, do tell me how it went. If I can't go at least I can hear about how it went.

HUGE NEWS

Hello all,

so maybe some (or most) of you have heard from others or from myself that I am moving to California to attend Brooks Institute and that I am leaving mid-April. Well, you heard right.

HOWEVER, after being accepted and all that jazz, fate don't agree that my hopes and dreams should come true now. I AM going to Brooks, however it is postponed, to when, I do not know. If it takes me CIB (Christ is BAAAACK!!!) years to go to Brooks, I will.

Before you start flooding my inbox with questions, the main problem in finance. I will need to fulfill a certain amount of money in my bank to prove that I am able to get the visa and whatnot. And if I manage to get my finance stable by the slated time, then by all means, I am leaving in mid-April as planned. But I am not counting on that right now. I figured if I want to wait, I'll be wasting hours.

I'd be lying right in your face if I said that I am not bummed/upset/sad about this, but I figure that if I dwell like I did the last few days, then I might as well shoot myself because it'd mean wasting seconds to run after my dreams.

With this, I'd like to apologize to those who have rushed plans because I was supposedly leaving and those whom I have hurt by announcing my plans of leaving. As much as I apologise, do know that I will STILL be leaving, if not now, later.

I would also like to thank the many who had wanted to plan a farewell party, and those who lend me support in my dark, morbid days, as well as those who promised me they will cry at the airport on my departure date.

Here, I would also like to announce that I have dates open, and you can book me to shoot for your shows and tour (hehhh). Do flood my inbox about this.

Nokia 5800 Launch Party with All American Rejects

I have had some of you who told me personally that you want to read more of my blog, with what's happening with me because apparently I am sinking and disappearing in the sea of...well you want to know more of what's happening other than official news and rants. Well, to those of you who approached me, you made me feel special. Thank you for reading, and this paragraph makes me feel like I'm Britney Spears in demand or something HAHAHAHA. Fuck that shit, let's get down to the real business/play.

Last week, after crazy almost last minute news dropped like a bomb in Singapore that All American Rejects is coming down to Singapore for the Nokia 5800 Launch Party, Lyds liaised with Nokia for a spot in the media...room? Yeah well, that's what we got. We got invited to the Nokia 5800 Media Event where they introduced us to the phone and how much Nokia and Universal Music spent on that first ever Nokia touch screen phone and such like that.

Being Lyds and I, we were Lyds and I. Geddit? HAHA. Well, we're not clubbers, and the Media Event was at Velvet Underground and we were quite under-dressed because the people that were mainly present on that day were the industry people and Lyds was dressed in her black lace top and I was in...a Lamb Of God shirt. Also, being the Muslims that we are, it was hard picking drinks so we ended up with the punch and orange juice (which we wonder if they were spiked at all after the whole event because we didn't ask).

Nokia photographers were taking quite a lot of photos of us, probably because we're way too different from everyone, but it seems like the photos are nowhere to be found. But I found a photo of Lyds, Joakim (I think that's how you spell his name? He's a writer for Junk Magazine) and I picking drinks.

One by one the speakers from Nokia, Universal Music and another person come on stage to do some introduction and Q&A (I am a bad media person, I know. I don't remember names and it's bad), I did expect All American Rejects to be there. And yes, there were. Since we're dressed like we don't belong, they notice us. Only because they too, were dressed like they don't belong at that place.

I should've have taken proper photos of Tyson, because his SHOES were GLITTER and they were RED. Gotta love that guy for being such a hippie HAHA.

After that, we headed to the coffee shop nearby to have our lunch + dinner because the food they provided was not halal, even though they look good.

After our small dinner, we head back to Zouk (they're all the same place, as much as they say that they're next to each other. IT'S THE SAME DAMN PLACE LA CAN?) and made our way to the Zouk Members Area. While we were socializing, Nick and Chris of AAR walk by with smiles on their faces (okay, maybe just Nick). We returned the smile and Joakim(lets assume this is how we spell your name, k? K.) asked Nick which was the tattoo that he got from L.A Ink, and he flashed his calves without hesitant. It was a tattoo of his dog, it was cute.

Time flies and we got on to the interview with Singapore Polytechnic's writers. They're very young, excited and nice bunch of people. Would like to see them around more. So we went to the area where we were gonna interview them and then we were told to wait because the AAR boys had to eat, so we did (I can almost feel like this is the most boring blog ever).

We got Nick and Mike of AAR, and here is basically how the interview went. Lyds made a short clip of it:

We almost took photos with the AAR boys, but we got shoved off by the Universal Music people before we got our chance, even though Tyson did say he wants us to hang around. Uhm yeah Ty, maybe next time. Before we got shoved off, the boys posed.

After that we went out of Zouk, with Nick and Chris behind us, and after seeing Lyn, Carmen and Paula who were in line for the party for a bit, we got shoved off by road security to go back to Zouk. I swear, we got shoved off too many times that day we're immuned to that shit. As we walked back to Zouk Tyson and Mike walked out to receive some screams from the line. Tyson was just as excited to see his fans as his fans were excited to see him. I heard him say loud and clear, "DUDE, LOOK AT THE LINE, IT GOES ALL THE WAY TO THE BACK! *points to the crowd*" Well Ty, it's Singapore and you're performing for free. The line could go all the way to cause a road block before you know it.

We went in first before the line got in, and waited for the girls to join us. I stood at the spot where I thought that I could take the best pictures from because the stage was too high up and didn't move a muscle, even when Lyds went to look for the girls.

After all the mini drama, it was PARTAY (and work, for my case).

On another note, I did and cut my hair. The person (I'm gonna call him hairstylist because he delivered only half the job), didn't cut my hair the way I want it to be, so I'm going to Lyn's hairdresser soon to get my hair cut again.

Small (or big?) update :)

It's been a while since I updated on what has been going on with me other than the other "poetic" blogs, rants and such like that. Well it is time to let you know the highlights.

About 3 weeks ago, I went to the Parkway Drive show with Lyds that organised by awesome ladies of Prettig Productions (you both and the crew were so awesome I just have to mention). Being such journalists that Lyds and I are, we had a short interview with Winston from Parkway Drive before the show. It was hella funny.

When Winston arrived, I was feeling tensed because I was worried if the Post Office was going to slam their door shut on me because it was almost their closing time as I needed to post and fax some school stuff to the States. But it all somehow drowned to the back of my head as soon as we introduced ourselves to Winston.

He was such a nice guy, he giggled and laughed a lot (even though things weren't funny). And after the interview, Lyds and I took a photo with Winston. So here's the photo of him and I, if you haven't seen it plastered on my photo albums yet.

This is NOT the first time I realise I am short, THANK YOU.

The following week, I just spent my days at home because my ass and I decided to get infected from Winston's coughing. Apparently, I wasn't alone. Lyds was sick too. And the haze wasn't helping either. Yes fellow Singaporeans, if you didn't notice, there WAS a bloody haze. That week too, I went to Fadz's Studio to support my homeboys, Blindfold Hero. I was coughing and had cough mints in my mouth all the time. And I showed off my pink strap slippers for the first time that day. Talk about fashion trash.

Last week, was crazy. On Wednesday, I went to Blindfold Hero's recording session at TNT Studios, where they re-recorded their improvised song, Death Of A Rising Star. And because I am being a good manager and that they are my homeboys, I have their song up on my MySpace as well :)

On Friday, we had girls day out. It was actually just the four of us McGirls, but Lyn's sister joined, and then Carmen's sister joined. We watched stars MOVE. It was funny.

Failed attempt at camwhoring

Another thing that happened was Asilent's interview, on Saturday. Seeing how I haven't met ALL of them at once in a while, I thought the interview would be a good time to meet all of them. Yes, it was. Even their girlfriends Felicia, Ivah and Anna was there. It was so nice to see all of them again.

So we did the interview, had fits of giggles and destructive laughters, we took pictures. Here's a photo of my with my death metal homeboys. Finally.

And comes to my story of what happened, yesterday. I took my TOEFL test. Google that shit if you don't know what it is. After you've done that (or if you don't have to), I am going to bring you to my news that some of you probably know already.

I am going to be pursuing a Bachelors Degree of Arts - Professional Photography at Brooks Institute in Santa Barbara, California. Californians, say "YEAH!" I am definitely excited for this coming journey. I will be breathing new air and will be going out of my comfort zone. Everything will be brand new. My birthday wish is coming true, a new life is within reach. All I hope for now is that I can get through it smoothly.

As much as I am excited, I am also scared and sad. Scared because I KNOW it is going to be hard being alone there, even though I have friends who live a few hours drive away and going to be making new friends who are a scream away. It's like being born again, except this time I will be growing and guiding myself instead of having someone hold my hand as I learn how to walk. I will be fine, I hope. Sad, because I will be leaving Singapore feeling empty, because I will be leaving everyone that became my everything. You people know who are.

The school is preparing my visa and such like that, and if everything goes well I will be leaving in mid April, this year. Yes, this year. Do pray for me that everything goes well, if not, amazing.

It's the last day of the year (31st Dec 2008, just in case you forgot what the date is), and I am at Starbucks in the middle of Orchard Road with Lyds, Lyn and Carmen (they all went to the toilet as I type this, btw) discussing some things you don't have to know about.

My FYP is due in 5 days and I am probably at my wits end on how I'm gonna make that bloody project work. My internet got cut off because the government decides to reconstruct my apartment, so I am internet-less for God knows how long. After I had only 2 hours of sleep, the thing that made my day today is calling a friend "idiot" and him calling me "dipshit" in return. HAHAH fucker, you wrapped up my year well and you don't even know it.

And of course, this is going to be a long blog.

First off, I'd say that 2008 was a tough cookie, compared to all the years I have lived, with all the bullshit I pulled through. Of course, for the most part, the shittiest days of my life was when I turned 20 (Matt of BXH and I agreed that 1988 Sagittarians are cursed in the 2008, but I'm not sure if the rest of the 1988 Sagittarians agree) when everything seem to go downhill. But hey, that is only December, the rest of the months had their share of shitty days too. However and obviously, not all that happened are shit. Of course there is a balance of the good things in life that make breathing special. I sound like a fucking hippie so let's move on.

Merry Christmas to all

I am sure 99% of you on my MySpace page right now are out partying or having eve dinners with the family, or else, just out there in the snow/rain/crazy lighted streets. Well good for you, because at least you're having fun. And if you're out alone, at least your out there containing yourself from whatever you are feeling right now. Or else, it's not even Christmas eve yet, depending on which end of the Earth you're living in.

I am indoors, it has been raining all day this Christmas eve (to those of you in the crowd at Orchard Road, HA HA HA) and as much as my self esteem is being stabbed by the spear of mended hearts, I still give a little smile as I draw smilies on my kitchen window. I love the cold, it grips tight to my skin and pulls my eye lashes along with my lids like a shutter, and how my nose just get red and, occasionally, like now, in a few seconds I erupt to a...sneeze.

I wipe my laptop screen hoping everyone else is doing well because it's Christmas when every other TV show just reminds me that it is a happy celebration and where every shares and cares and smiles and...everything you can think of. Uhh, yes, I do watch television during holidays because it's always nice to see snow on TV, seeing how Singapore never snows. And also because I am stuck at home coding my final year project (FYP) like crazy because submission is on the 5th of January. I don't think you'd see the word "PARTAY" for New Years' either.

Howevafafa, I am having a sleep over at Lyds' with my girls (yet to be confirmed though), and THAT GIG is on the 27th, so hopefully that MIGHT spell "PARTAY" and give me something to look forward to before the year ends. OH fresh news is just in, the sleepover is a go! HAHHAHAHA -- UHM. ANYWAYS.

Truth be told, since 2003, Christmas always remind me of times when I had Westlife singing Christmas songs on my stereo while it rains outside. I'd just look out the window, and cry because I know I am alone for that very Christmas and every other Christmas to come. I know that even with someone new (which hasn't happened yet) or with loved ones, there will be a little hole in my heart refusing to heal, because of one who left with that part of my heart, who probably smoking it like it's weed right now in the skies.

I will not get over that 19 year old, who will stay 19 forever, and I have moved on with life, in which I have because it's been five years now that he flew up to the skies and come back down when I least expect it.

I usually don't do Christmas blogs (I think this is the first one), because I don't celebrate this commercialised holiday in which I love only for the sale that goes on every store (I'm Singaporean like that). I must, too, assure you that I am not a party person, so Christmas invites are usually responded by a text on your hi-tech-gone-paycheck phones that reads, "I don't think I'm making it out tonight, have fun for me :D". I have denied about 7 parties in two Christmases (you're probably thinking, "HA LOSER, only SEVEN?" but fa to the ahck to the yoo to the ooohoo), and I am not saying that you shouldn't bother, just keep the invites in, I might...surprise you in years to come? I don't know.

Anyways, Merry Christmas, be good kids and stay alive. I do not like the idea of you shooting up to the skies leaving your family a mark of your act without being able to say goodbye.

good journey twenty

Okay, so you have all seen the fucked up side of my 20th birthday two days before the day itself, there is actually more to it and this 20th birthday has got me thinking a lot. I shall not elaborate on that side of the birthday, because there are actually good things that happened on my birthday, and I somewhat regretted not fully enjoying it for keeping my head occupied with shit.

So remember how the previous two nights before my birthday, 5th December 2008, I screwed up the celebration with my girls? Well, a little after the the crying session, I opened the presents, and cried some more through little smiles and laughs when I opened the presents.

The girls gave me a voice recordable teddy bear that I have now named it as Heyhey, and whenever I click Heyhey's left hand, it'll play FOUR voices that matter to me. Three of them are the girls, and another is the voice of a kanina face. HAHA I love it, I brought it along with me to Grind Feast and to the Angels and Airwaves show. Heyhey symbolises the girls and I can just see myself hugging the little fucker whenever I miss them girls. I have yet to go to sleep with Heyhey HAHA.

ALSO, my twin bought me a watch, knowing that I don't wear watches anymore because I break every single watch I own in moshpits. So she got me a watch, that I now name Crack, and it literally says CRACK on it, and she says it is advisable that I wear them in moshpits, which she knows that I won't because I don't wanna break another watch. It's a little big, but it still tells me the time, so I love it.

Also, I bought myself gifts for my own. I got both Paramore's The Final Riot DVD and (finally) Trivium's Shogun DVD package on the 3rd December. So here's the two DVDs with Heyhey and Crack.

Remember how I was whoring out the Grind Feast Singapore show?

This was a day before my birthday. Well it all went well, minus the fact that the crowd was mainly made up of the bands that was performing on that day, the fact that I missed Cardiac Necropsy's set (sorry uncles, I watch next time, k?) and that Wormrot's and Asilent's set was cut short because of venue restrictions and shit like that. A lof of production shit happened on that day, but it was a great day because I get to see my death metal brothers (you know who you fuckers are) after a long as time. I didn't really camwhore that day as I had promised myself to, maybe because my head was still messed. I HAVE YET TO TAKE A PHOTO WITH ASILENT, FULL BAND. GODAMMIT.

Emile has now turned into a matrep. Right, Udang Kering?

I have a spastic fanboy, in a form of Asilent's guitarist who happens to be my cousin.

And if you follow on MySpace, there was once that I said I might go for the Angels and Airwaves show and that it was going to be on my birthday? Well, I went. I am not a big fan (truth: I don't know their songs). And if I were to pay for the show, it will only be due to the soul fact that Tom Delonge was in Blink 182 and I had a punk rock crush on him. Oh did I say IF I were to pay for the show? Yep, I got in with a photo pass and a free ticket. And for this I would like to thank Michael Hosking of MIDAS Promotions for approaching me on the coverage of this show and SHOUT! for just being SHOUT! haha. It was something to look forward to for my birthday, instead of staying home and feeling all tensed.

I went in thinking that Tom will not win my heart ever again after the Blink 182 episode, but I ended going home thinking that he knows his way to the heart mine and relive the silly punk rock fangirl that I was for a little bit. ONLY because he performed There Is, a Boxcar Racer song (if you're a Blink 182 fan you'd know this song), and stay the same funny ass Tom that we all know. The whole night, I was just wishing that it was Blink 182 instead of Angels and Airwaves, because I miss the full force funny ass punk rock band.

It all started with Indonesian band Self Control as an opening band, they have a crazy ass drummer (in a good way) and their front man talked a lot to the crowd, which I thought was good. And since the front was already filled with people (there was no photo pit), Fiona (who was covering the show for MTV) and I went to the balcony where the media/press can access to. Unsatisfied that we can only take photos from one angle and that we only have basic camera kit, we waited for the the open act to exit the stage where the crowd were slowly instructed by the security to go back to their seats. Yep, it was a seated show.......yeah.

Photos of Self Control's set will be up soon, around the same time with the Grind Feast photos.

And when Tom entered stage, everyone started screaming, and I was right in front of him. Godamn, this guy is a tall as fuck. OH WAIT. I shall continue this Angels and Airwaves part of the story on a separate MySpace blog when the photos are published on SHOUT!'s New Year issue, so do look out for alerts! Nyeheh.

I would like to thank McGirls for just being the McGirls that I love, Asilent for being awesome brothers of mine, Blindfold Hero for being amazing bunch of friends who just makes me laugh at just the sight of anyone of you, everyone at Grind Feast that made me smile even a little, every familiar face at the Angels and Airwaves show that didn't make me feel alone, my mom for making me realise a lot of things from just that minute incident, and every single one of you who wished me happy birthday, be it on MSN, MySpace comments or msgs. You are all very much appreciated. If I forgot any of you, or anything that happened within these three days, do claim your part through MySpace comments.

These babies came in a little late. Last week, 29th November 2008, Aqilah invited some of the school mates and I to her sister's wedding. Aqilah, Mira (datin kape HAHA), Pam, Sha, and myself became complete makciks and gathered with our baju kurung and kebaya, sometimes that Khai's and Hamdi's presence.

At the table, we gossiped, complimented the food and the dessert decorations, complained about the heat of the weather, laughed at boys, "checked out" boys (seriously, to me there weren't any hot guys to check out and if there was, they're..not my type?), made a fool out of ourselves and took photos. How is everything? If you've been following, I'm managing a band called Blindfold Hero (or else, I just haven't told you that -- yes I am officially managing a band now -- yet, and they just hit the recording studios the other day to record a song, titled "If Only It Was Easy"

Some Things In Life We Have To Let Go

Hey all,

what's going on? It's been a rough few weeks for me, and things are gonna get much tougher as we speak, but hey, I trust it when my girls say that everything is gonna be better.

First I'd start with Taste Of Chaos Singapore. It was SHIT, and it was the shit. Only because I got 'disapproved' at door even though Lyds was THE ONLY NAME plus one (me) under As I Lay Dying's guest list (WHATEVER AH K), and it was fine because we still have the girls with us, and we took a photo with Ryan from Story Of The Year.

Anyways, the reason why I brought up TOC SG, is not to talk about what happened, but to tell you about the loss of something that is dear to me, that I made after that. I promised my mum that I will put it away after TOC SG, and so I had to.

Vykrolakas will not be part of SG GRIND FEAST this year, because one of their members will be out of town. We sure do want them to be part of the bill for next year.

Went for the Halloween gig at Rumah Seri Friends House, yesterday. Saw a coupld of faces I haven't seen in what seemed like a million years. I was a hippie for Halloween. I can't believe I made it alive out there for the whole day. I met up with my girls after the show, who were totally the normal usual them, HAHHA.

A7X in Singapore - I thought I'd share

NOTE: I did not read proof this blog post before I hit send. AND, it's a long one. Be warned.

I told the girls I wasn't going to blog about this, but I can't help it. I have a personal MySpace that DOESN'T or REFUSE to let me sign in, so I have to do this on my photography page. And this might even end up on my website. ANYWAYS...

I'd like to dedicate this blog to my girls Lyds, Lyn and Carmen, you have all been there through thick and thin, and this is yet our second A7X show, this is how we met, and this is the ONLY concert that we didn't get separated from each other or succumb to shitheads that come our way. We fought our way through, not only just for this concert, but also our lives. This band is the base of our friendship, and sharing the moment during this concert is something I will not trade for the world. Thank you girls, I love every single one of you. And no Lydia, I am not going to die. I am still breathing right now. And I am sorry I broke the news to you. Yes Lyn and Carms, she now knows about the Suntec incident.

Also, to the boys who were the concert with us. Those who stayed over at Mac Pavillion and saved us girls a spot at the front queue: Syam, Keith, Terrance, Wilson, the guy in the Misfits shirt and his two friends, IDK if I thanked you guys on the day, but THANK YOU, you boys are AMAZING. Not to forget Isa, who joined along in the queue too, along with us girls.

ALL OF YOU BOYS, I regard you right now as people who are compatible as my concert buddies, because, you're so awesome you should be proud of yourself. Just so you boys know, not many people can get along with us girls when it comes to concerts, but you ALL did. Thank you for taking care of us, not just because we're girls, but good job, you took care of each other. I am glad that all of you enjoyed the show, and as the photos all across the internet world has proven, you got the front row, even though we're all spreaded. This paragraph is longer than the paragraph for my girls, because I the girls and I have been talking about the show non stop, so, no worries, they won't get jealous...I think. HAHA.

"Why the fuck am I nervous..?" I said that to myself about a million of a million times. Tell me, what would that number be?

10.00AM, last week...
My mum was going for a check up. Her surgery is confirm to be on the 12th November.

Also, I was already texting ALL the girls as and when I can. This is, I repeat, this is THE show I am looking forward to going, as part of the audience, and not with a shooting mission. Yes, I said this for SINGfest 08', but this is different. I was on a shooting mission when I was in the audience. This is Avenged Sevenfold. The band that got me to metal, we're talking about. Plus, Max Pavillion don't allow any photography/filming/audio recording. I see a lot of video and people with DSLRs at the show, though. WTH.

11.30AM, last week...
Met up with Syam, Ahmad, Isa, and one of their friends. Hung out for a while, and was totally excited about Avenged Sevenfold. Was told that Syam, Keith and two other guys are gonna be

sleeping over at Max Pavillion. WOAH. And so they too, are going to chope place for us in the line.

12.30PM, last week...
I was on the way to go meet Lyds, because she wants to go get her shirt. I was texting her, and POOF, my phone's battery died on me. NICE. Thank God Lyds knew about the battery. By this time, I just stare into space (or rather, to the ceiling of the train) in boredom.

13.00PM, last week...
We arrive Peninsula and went around the whole shopping center, and not ONE shirt matches the taste of either of us twins. We shall NOT resort to band shirts. SHALL NOT. WILL NOT. Did not. And so we decided to go to the girlier stores.

14.30PM, last week...
Our stomach starts to go death metal in hunger. Lunch at Long Johns. Lyds and I started speaking of the fears of teenage mothers. Random, I know. Not really. Lyds and I know why.

15.45PM, last week...
"OOOOOOOOOOOO SHADES" - Lyds. We went through John Little, trying out clothes we'd NEVER wear. Oh, and did I tell you, that day, we had a twin moment. Both of us, in jeans, in purple top, AND purple hoodies. Woah, seriously, beat that twin moment. ANYWAYS. We tried dresses, stupid frilly tops and all that shit. Camwhored here and there, tried some more normal people clothes (yes apparently we don't dress like normal people, wtf HAHHAA), and left not buying a thing.

16.30PM, last week...
Suntec. I don't even remember what we were doing there, but I remember cursing at This Fashion for having clothes sized "L" in SMALL sizes. DON'T THESE PEOPLE EAT?

And today, I found out, that around the same time, The Barry brothers and Sanders were at Suntec too. AND we didn't even see him. Yes girls, I already dropped the bomb to Lyds. YOU KNOW I can't keep secrets from my own twin.

17.15PM, last week...
We sit at City Hall MRT's steps, waiting for Bryant to arrive. He was going to buy a piano at Funan. We accompanied the guy. He didn't get any, and so we all went home.

07.30PM, last week...
I reach home all tired from the long day. I charge my phone, turned it on, and received a text from Fiaz.

"Call me. Urgent."

WOAH. I quickly dialled his number, or rather, went through the phone book and called him. I was greeted by laughter. He dropped the bomb to the AsilenT's very own little sister that they were asked to open for Avenged Sevenfold. And they said no.

08.00PM, last week...
The silly me wanted to cry. I had almost wanted to throw myself out my window of my 7th floor apartment. But fuck it, I have no time to be upset. I have a batch of photos to do, and plus, AsilenT does brutal death metal. It WOULD be funny to watch Avenged Sevenfold fans reaction to their music with much shock, but it would be too ridiculous. A part of me thanked God that they said no.

11.42PM, last week...
Armegeddon is near (HAHAHA *hint to AsilenT, if they ever read this*). Four girls, are nervous as fuck, and they're not even the ones performing.

Lyn was doing her paper, Lyds was rushing her assignments, (I think?), I was buried in my photos, and Carmen was just being Carmen, screaming at the top of her lungs on MSN as and when she can. Right about now, everyone is tired, but refuses to sleep because the excitement is burning brains. Whatever that means.

We text Syam and company who were sleeping over if they were okay. We got news that they're really cold, because it was raining heavily islandwide that night. Poor boys.

FRIDAY, dated 24th October 2008
02.03AM, last week...
I finished my batch of photos and the girls already given up on what they were doing. We were PROBABLY saying our many goodnights, and finally settled to sleep.

05.30AM, last week...
My phone alarm went off. Wow I do not want to wake up. OH WAIT, I shall not deny this day. My mum was already cooking for all of us. I snoozed anyways, until 6AM.

06.30AM, last week...
I am done showering and was putting myself together.

07.00AM, last week...
Make up's done, food and stuff are all packed. I'm just waiting for a text from Lyds to cue for me to leave. Ten minutes later, I leave. Texted the boys to find out that they're hungry. Gotta hurry.

07.20 (07.30?)AM, last week...
I meet Lyds at City Hall's train platform, and she said, "you know, when I wanted to leave, I almost forgot my ticket".

My response, you ask?

"OH MY GOD, I FORGOT MINE! I'm not kidding, seriously, I am not kidding you right now"
"Really? :| "
"Yes, I am not kidding. What the fuck is wrong with me? I forgot my fucking ticket!"
"Okay let's go back, I need to check if I didn't BLEEEEEPPP my BLEEEEEEP also"

I'm back home again, this time, with Lydia. She went in my house, went to check if she didn't BLEEEEEP her BLEEEEEP, and since she's already inside, she took my ticket for me, and we left.

We arrive at Expo MRT station, and Lyds attempted to record the station announcment that we were already at expo. Operation failed. HAHAHA.

We were in 7-11, and guess who was in there? ISA -.-

09.10/09.15AM, last week...
We arrive, and Lyn was late. The rest was just a blur. I remember fights over "booze". YES LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, IT WASN'T REAL BOOZE, GET OVER IT. WE WERE NOT DRUNK. EVERYTHING WAS CERTIFIED HALAL. Jeez.

Yes. No kidding, everything was a blur. We got bored. Bored people don't remember things.

Around 11.00AM, last week...
Lyn arrives in her new improved red shirt. IT WAS PRETTY. And she brought cupcakes. YAY.

Somewhere between that time, Lyn realises something.

We then got bored, started to bother Carmen with texts and calls asking her to get her ass there as soon as possible. We made almost 100 attempts to sleep, considering we had little sleep (or none), but fail. So this is what happens.

YEP, you guessed it. Camwhoring.

Oh and while waiting for Carms, we went to the MPH booksale, and bought a Dexter book. YES LYDIA, it's still with me.

Carmen finally arrives. Project panties begins now. I start off by doing this.

Everyone is bored out of their fucking minds. You have WORKAHOLICS in the line, and waiting in line with NOTHING TO DO?!?! SERIOUSLY?!?!

People started to cut lines, we all slowly started getting pissed, and in the heat of the noon, there was suddenly chaos amongst the crowd. There was a fight. I laughed. Because no one died.

Around 06.00PM, last week...
The security started to go in and out of Max Pavillion. The boys and my girls started to get pissed with the fact that people were cutting the queue, and that the queue wasn't organised in the first place. HELLO, DOES IT TAKE SOMEONE TO DIE TO DO THINGS EARLY? AAAAAAAARGH. Anyways. The security pissed us off. Nuff said.

Around 06.15PM, last week...
"MOVE THE FUCK BACK! I said, MOVE THE FUCK BACK, MOVE!" -- Just like SINGfest 07', no one listens to Matt Sanders, but everyone listens to Sya Hysteria. Weird. Except this time, Sanders was backstage, doing God knows what. Who cares. The crowd was a bitch, the security was a bitch. Everyone but the boys and my girls was a bitch. BITCH.

In between, this happened. Annoyingly entertaining.

Around 06.45PM, last week...
Instruction was given to the securities. We all heard them. Three barricades in front of about 12,500 fans (according to Sunday Times), and they decide to remove the middle barricade.

HI,

1. The crowd is uneasy and uncomfortable.
2. Every wants to get out of everyone's way.
3. There are only THREE barricades.
4. MAJORITY at the front row, to you left, my dear securities, SLEPT OVER, and is pissed off.
5. The crowd WILL push. DUH.

And so, Lyn, Lyds and I started screaming at the security. Carmen was high, so she didn't really care. Syam and I were screaming at the crowd to shut the fuck up. Isa, Kieth, Terrance and Wilson, were fairly quiet pissed off people. And then, TWO times, the crowd pushed forward, and the barricades nearly fell. And this is what happened.

SG: DON'T PUSH!
SH: WHAT AM I, THE ONLY FUCKING PERSON BEHIND THE BARRICADES?
SG: *turns to guy next to me* DON'T PUSH!
SH: WHAT THE FUCK, YOU DON'T TELL THE CROWD TO NOT FUCKING PUSH, THEY WILL PUSH. YOU DON'T LISTEN TO US, AND NOW YOU DON'T USE YOUR BRAINS, WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS?!

The middle barricades were open. Isa and Keith ushered Lyds and Lyn out first. And then They went in. The guy in the Misfits shirt, literally blocked out the crowd so that Carmen and I can get through. Imagine the chaos. Four pissed off girls who won't shut the fuck until they get justice, and all boys who queued along with us the entire day, being as helpful as fuck. THANK YOU BOYS. The security announced that they're gonna close the doors if the crowd won't stop pushing. WHO THE FUCK WOULD LISTEN TO THAT?

Around 07.20PM, last week...
The door bitches tear off my tickets, and I ran to where Lyds, Lyn and Carmen was. Front fucking row, between center stage and Brian's area. I looked around and saw that Isa and Keith secured themselves a spot in front row, Brian's area. The guy in the Misfits shirt and his friends was still outside. I was gonna worry about those guys, but the crowd started being assholes and started covering up spots. I just hope those guys got front row. And they did.

Vermillion enters stage. WOAH WTF THE CROWD OF PEOPLE WHO BOOED THEM, GO AND DIE. THEY WERE AWESOME. ROSLAN ROCKS KAY. AHAHHAA. But seriously, YOU say the Singapore music scene sucks, but hey it all starts with YOU. Great set boys. Yuo did well.

The stage went dark, the sound of the organ for Critical Acclaim hit everyone's ears, I saw Jimmy walk to his drum set, Matt's bald head on the left side of the stage, Brian running out, Johnny walking our eagerly, and ...I didn't see Zacky, SORRY. AHAHAHA.

I thought Brian looked like a doll. YES, I said it. HAHAHA.

DO I REALLY NEED TO EXPLAIN WHAT HAPPENED? Yes like Lyn said, for everything else, there's YouTube.

Being the short persont that I am, I had people using me as an arm rest as they rocked out and showed the devil horns to the boys on stage and as a tripod stand for them to take photos/videos with their camera phones. AMAZING. I had people framing my face during songs, and I had my L____e__e moment, and Johnny and Brian laughed at me. Thanks, I sense the sympathy.

We shouted for Brian, threw the granny panties, and he saw the panties land on his bloody feet. The four os us signalled like morons for him to pick it up, and he was like, "pick it up?" and we were, "YES PICK IT UP," and then Jason took it away because the song was gonna start. HILARIOUSLY teeny weeny disappointing. WELL, at least Brian stuck to our area the whole time after that. I know the whole band was around our area most of the time.

Around 10.30PM, last week...
"EH, FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU!" -- Lyds. I thought she was screaming that because people were climbing over her like she was climbing over me. I actually lifted the guy who was climbing over me and tossed him towards the back as Sanders was in front of us, about to throw the set list. He looked a bit shocked, but Lyds sent he cue to leave, so I left. Guess what, Lyds got Jimmy's stick.

The Four has collapsed in the middle of the hall. Everyone just looked. And this photo was randomly taken by a girl I do not know who.

We headed out to the backstage, found millions of girls with almost no clothes on, so we stayed there for a bit, discovered bruises, laughed at each other, and tried to stay sane.

The boys came out to sign autographs. Nice. We TOTALLY left.

RIGHT NOW...
With all the ALMOST HAVE HAD met Avenged Sevenfold, we knew that NOTHING and NO ONE can take away what went on around our side DURING the concert. 90% of the crowd thinks Brian was pissed off during the show, well, if you were right in front of him you'd know he wasn't. He was making stupid faces, and Johnny and the four of us battled funny faces, Sanders was obviously sick, Jimmy rocking out, and Zacky was just...too far away to function. Okay I;ll give the guy some credit, Zacky DID come over to our side a few times, we shared TEENY WEENY MOMENTS, he saw us, nodded, I knew I nodded back.

The show was great, the set could've been longer, but I believe Sanders was sick, so that explains the last minute opening act and the "short set".

I haven't been updating (or so I feel like I haven't), and here I am, with a new layout and realisation that there are a few batches of photos that I didn't post.

I think the layout sucks...I just need to brush up with my codings, JEEZ. And I need to make a new header to pretty-fy my site :)

AND, I KNOW I posted the batch of photos for Art Rock 2, but they seem to be gone now, so oh well, I shall post them soon.

Avenged Sevenfold Marathon

YESSSSSSSSSSS, you heard it right. We had an Avenged Sevenfold marathon, to get us psyched for the show on the 24th October 2008. I skipped school (Finance class btw, and nope, I didn't oversleep, I woke up fuckin early, so Leslie if you're EVER reading this ((God knows how you found my link)), yes I skipped your class) and headed to Lyn's place to start burning her kitchen for the hungry everyone (Lyn, Lyds, Carms) who were there for the marathon.

We are SUCH Avenged Sevenfold fans and we're proud of it. PLUS, it's been a while since ALL FOUR of us hung out, TOGETHER. Well, the last was Lyn's birthday BBQ (photos coming up), but this gathering, getting prepped and excited for something, is something we haven't done since the last time A7X was in town. AND, it was this bloody band that brought us together :)

Fortunately for us girls, the camera (Lyn's D40 is <33333333, btw) only made it downstairs after the marathon happened. The aftermath is as follows.

You probably read a few blogs of mine, be it sad or a note to tall of you, wishing you a Happy Eid Mubarak. Well, here is how mine went.

It all started with the eve of Eid Mubarak. My mom and I have already planned days ahead that we are going to go to Geylang, a place where all the Malays/Muslims go to for their last minute shopping for this celebration, from 11.30 pm to 5.30 am. However, it rained that night, and it dampen our will to go, but at 1 am or so, Mom decided to go anyways, not caring of the rain.

If you read our previous blogs, you'd know that we have been signed and will be doing a three way split.

NOPE.

We're happy to announce that it is going to be a four (nope, not three) way split, and the fourth band added in for the split is Infinite Defilement from Australia!

We're pretty excited for the split, and the release is probably around November or December, so keep in touch for the exact release date!

I sit here in the living room, in front of my laptop and listening to the Takbir, and this blog has to be pretty emotional for me. It's been a while since I posted something sane for you to properly understand unless your name goes by Lyds Labyrinth or Lyn The Manager, so here we go.

Like every year, is it painful for me that the fasting month of Ramadhan has ended, because it is the only month I feel safe, and where everything helps me to be calm. Well, probably this year you do see me being pissed off over little things, but believe me, every Ramadhan teaches me something valuable to my life. This year's Ramadhan, I went through a couple of things like procrastination, building bridges to people from all over the world over the internet, chasing my dreams and going further into it, got busy and started to not sleep as much as normal people do, and most importantly, I gained, and lost this year.

Since the Muslim month of Syawal is here, I would like to wish all everyone especially the Muslims a Happy Eid Mubarak.

I would like to take this opportunity to apologise for all the wrong that I have done, be it the many people that I have hurt, the hearts I broke (who knows), the stupid things that I have done, the food and drinks I nicked knowing some people do not share, screamed and shout for no reason, got you in trouble, got into trouble with you, and many other forms that I have done to make you feel like shit.

Clean Table, and Avenged Sevenfold

Heyyyyy, how is everyone doing?

Some of you who read my blogs would know that I have been eaten alive by bedbugs for the past few weeks badly. As bad as having bedbugs on my furniture and all, that is spread all over my workspace. Since Hari Raya/Eid Mubarak is coming, it's time to clean up anyways, so the past few days, my mum was cleaning the house and killing them bedbugs with really hot water while I was at school. All that's left is my table, and it's my turn now.

I decided to snap some pictures in between cleaning my table, which works as my workspace AND my room. I like cleaning (when I have A LOT of time, that is), because I ALWAYS go down the memory lane, with all the things I have. So many things rediscovered, I either giggle or just suddenly have a swamp of emotions taking over me, and not to mention to find photos that give this amazing weird feeling called, "WHAT THE FUCK WAS I THINKING."

On the other note, the more sexciting part (you probably went, "she cleaned her table, big deal"), if you read my previous blog post you'd find an event invite by my twin (Lyds, you noobs) to the Avenged Sevenfold show. Well, here's what really happened.

I was looking through SISTIC to look out for future shows, while classmates were talking Macroeconomics. While I was updating my editor, Jacki, on what's going on in the world here, and here is what I found.

I started freaking out. This is the band that got me interested in motherfucking metal we're talking about, even though they don't go up to the extent of death metal AT ALL. I start to scribble on my school notebook, and my team mates start to get curious, but I ignore them anyways :D I have seen this band perform right in front of the eyes in my skeleton last year for SingFest, and was lucky enough to be the second batch of people to see them perform Almost Easy live, and now I get to see them again, on their own show.

I bet the paragraph above just show that I am gushing. I text Lyds and Lyn, and they sign in right away on MSN.

This happens:

We're such fangirls, NOT. Fuck that. This time I'm going to WATCH, not fangirl. I've grown up. I have learned and taught myself that I can love a band, but I don't have to be such a fuckin fangirl. Hanging out with so many bands taught me that IT IS WIERD to fuckin fangirl. But I am a fan, still.

Contradicting, huh? HAHAHAHAHAHAA.

So right now, the excitment will last until......the next band we get to see after Avenged Sevenfold. Right, girls? Much more of the excitement will be posted.

On the OTHER other note, School Invasion Tour is postponed. So for now, save your money, I'll see you at Avenged's show, and maybe Motley Crue.

And btw, Faridah and I are cute short bitches. HAHAH.

We are going to be a doing a three way split with BOWEL REGURGITATION and another band to be announced, which is expected to be out in October. We will confirm and update you on the release date, so keep checking back.

First update: I did AsilenT's photoshoot last week, and I am still working on them (well, I have been caught up with school), and those photos are coming up soon. The following will be the usual updates :)

As we all know, all of us Muslims are right now going through the fasting month of Ramadhan, so last Sunday, 6th September 2008, my mom's side of the family had a small gathering to break the fast together. And since it's been a few months since I last saw 'everybody' in this little family, I thought it'd be nice to photograph the chaos.

This post came in a little bit late. On the 13th Aug, some of my schoolmates and I decided to participate in a school trip to Tekong Island, to the Basic Military Training Camp, to see how life goes on there.

Guys who's going through National Service probably don't look forward to this blog, but hey, it was sort of a celebration for our semester to be gone, and we had fun :)

I knowwwwwwwwwwww, it has been a while since I uploaded the photos for IGNITE Music Festival, but hey...it's up now in the gallery!

I went for SingFest as an audience, and BOYYYYY was it amazing (even though I still think SingFest 07' was THE SingFest). The bands were all amazing, and I enjoyed New Found Glory the best, took load of photos, which will soon be uploaded as soon as I have the time to get my hands on them.

I took photos of One Republic, Panic At The Disco, Jamie Scott and Jason Mraz, and took it from a suck distance, and my lens are on 18-55mm, so there's gonna be a lot of cropping to be done. Those photos are going to go into my gallery, so yep, do look out for them!

Hey all! How is it been going? I know it's been a while since I last updated, but I have been busy with school and such, and one of the obstacles in life, my Final Year Project Part 1, is done! So now it's time to celebrate to take some more photos!

So head on down to Republic Polytechnic on the 25th and 26th August and join me for IGNITE music festival!

I'll be photographing the show, along with some of Republic Photo kids, so do come down and say hi! I'm expecting it to be fun!

Also, did you all purchase Kerrang magazine issue 1219? The one with the tribute for Iron Maiden? I'M HOOKED! My favorite out of the whole CD would be Wrathchild by Gallows it's amazing how they make the song sound so punk, and made it their own! My Second favorite out of all would be Iron Maiden by Trivium, they're just awesome! Third goes to Remember Tomorrow by Metallica and Fear of The Dark by Fightstar, I can't choose! Actually I love the whole CD, but it's just that these covers of Iron Maiden just gets to me first!

Alright, that would be it for now. I hope you all had good time while I disappeared this month, and do wait for photos off the IGNITE fest! I watched the stages being set up, and it seems awesome! There are gonna be pretty lights!

Hi Everyone,

It's time to break the bad news, but our guitarist Adam is leaving the band. He is taking a full load at school and feels God leading him down a different path for the time being. So with our blessing we are letting him go, always remaining friends and always with our support and love.

Saying that... now we need to audition for a new guitarist. Adam is staying with the band through the tour and for as long as we need to be able to train a new guitarist. If interested, read the rest of the blog, and get in touch with us for an audition.

Anyone who has listened to our music knows that we have extremely talented guitar players. We love to help people just starting out, and encourage beginners, but the person we need to fill the position has to be an experienced guitarist. Also, you need to be very flexible and teachable. Coca writes all of our music and you will be working one on one with him a lot. Someone with a humble spirit, ready to learn, willing to throw in good ideas, but also capable of receiving constructive critisim. You will audition with Coca only, and he will then make the decision for the band. You guys will have to be able to get along, someone very dedicated and talented.

As far as the band goes, we are very serious in our mission. We believe we have the talent to 'make it' in the music industry and you need to share that dream. That means practice twice a week, with 1-3 shows per weekend. You must have your own equiptment in good repair and you must be able to practice and willing to practice at home. We practice in Camden, so if you are not from the area, you'll need to be able to make the drive. Our bassist Jeff comes from Columbia, so there is the possiblity of riding together. Our beliefs are in God and honoring Christ in everything we say and do. We will not sacrifice our reputation or our ministry and you must be able to behave accordanly.

The bottom line is.. dedication. If you want to be a professional musician, if your dream is to play music for the rest of your life, and you are willing to put in the time, sweat and tears to do it, then get in touch with us. Be prepared for a professional audition with Coca, and another with the band. Okay, it's been a while since I last updated. At least, it seems like it.

Lots of things happened, most of it, you might not need to know. HAHA.

But I'll kick start with the National Geographic Channel event I attended. Pretty amazing, I must say. I was about the Special Olympics, and the photographer for the event, Jeff Hutchens, has pretty amazing works. He told us about how he got into photography, and about his journey throughout the whole Special Olympics. Look him up, his works impresses me.

Okay, like the subject suggests, my "[" key of my keyboard came off, it must've been because of the news that I got about Walls of Jericho Live in Singapore. Must've gotten too excited. Anyways, I have posted photos of Subtle Revenge and Overthrown's photos from the Comeback Kid show. I know, I have bee a bit slow, but these days when I come home after school I just completely passed out.

I HAVE THIS SONG STUCK IN MY HEAD! I am not a Hilary Duff fan, but her songs are okay, and I am trying not to restrict myself to anything, so yes, to those of you who KNOW that I don't like her, but hey, the songs are okay after all. I think? HAHA.

Last Saturday, on the 3rd May 2008, was the Welcome Tea (more like breakfast) for the newbies for my school's Photo IG (or club, rather. just cause I don't even remember what IG stands for *shrugs*). It was fun, some sharing sessions, and I BELIEVE, some of the new kids on the block are better than any of us seniors, but they're just not showing their colors yet. YET. Hahaa, we shall see.

After that, Hana, Khairi and I went out, totally unplanned. We sorta decided where to go when we're already in the train. Khairi had to go early coz he went of to photograph a wedding, so Hana and I went along the whole town area. When we're about to leave, we decided to take some photos. Last minute decisions could be fun, I guess? So here are the photos that I took from that day.

The Click Five In Singapore

JEEZ DUDE MY "[" BUTTON CAME OFF MY KEYBOARD.

Anyways. These dudes, The Click Five, I have watched them, believe it or not, twice. Once at the Hollaback Competiton (don't ask, I didn't get it either), and then their private showcase the night after. But those were the days when Eric was the vocalist for The Click Five.

Now they have a new vocalist, Kyle, and they're heading down to Singapore once again this year!
